PLAYLIST FOR THE TRIP –WITH VINTAGE VINYL-AT MILK READING, SESSION 107 ON 25th JANUARY 2014. LISTEN TO THIS SESSION AND OTHERS ON MIXCLOUD-JIM B. DONOVAN. THE NEXT SESSION IS ON FEBRUARY 22nd. BCNU-Hopefully-Jim.
A VERY BUSY NIGHT, WITH THE USUAL GLITCHES WHEN THE BAR GOT REALLY BUSY, AND I COULD NOT EVEN GET TO MY TUNES! A LITTLE BIT MORE OF A SLANT TO CLASSIC FUNK SOUL AND DISCO, BUT THAT REALLY IS THE BEDROCK OF THIS NIGHT. HOWEVER A FEW POPPY AND PUNKY ONES SLIPPED IN TOGETHER WITH OUR USUAL DOSE OF HIP HOP. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DO NOT KNOW READING, THE BAR HAS JUST PURCHASED A COUNTER SECTION OF READINGS ICONIC DEPARTMENT STORE, WHICH HAS RECENTLY CLOSED-JACKSONS, AND THE DECKS NOW RESIDE ON IT. SO WE HAVE ONE OF READINGS OLDEST BUILDINGS, WHERE MILK IS SITED, A BIT OF A VERY OLD READING STORE, AND WHAT'S LEFT OF A VERY OLD DJ ALL IN THE SAME PLACE, EVERY LAST SATURDAY.
I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MY QUIETER NIGHT, THE NEXT, NO ROOM FOR SQUARES-JAZZORIZIT-ALWAYS ON THE FIRST TUESDAY-, TO ENABLE ME TO GET MY BREATH BACK! HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS SESSION, AND APOLOGIES FOR THE GLITCHES, ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE OF MY DISPLAY STANDS COLLAPSED!!!-Jim
