TRIP 27/07/13

THE TRIP SESSION 100 WITH VINTAGE VINYL AT MILK, READING ON 27/7/13
PLAYLIST.
Well we finally made it to the big one double o, after over 7,00 tunes
being played at this night over the last 8 years. The bar was very full all
evening, and every one  was given a free cd., with excellent design by Ralph
Solly. Chris Gale of internet radio READING4U, was on hand to broadcast the
last three hours live on the station, and as such I was in more of a chatty
mood than usual! The plot where it existed, was for once not to take
requests, but just to play some of the most played/requested tunes over the
years. However a last minute idea by myself to play nothing but seven inch
singles during the first hour and a half, seemed to work well, as I really
do not play enough sevens. Andrew Carlin, of TRACKS and GROOVES, on the last
Thursday at MILK, was on hand to drop a few of my tunes to give me a short
break, and I dashed off after the session to play a short set elsewhere. The
Milk staff also made an excellent job of displaying a large wall display for
the evening. Photos of the night are on MILKS and my own facebook pages. I¹m
Jim B. Donovan. Plus the recording is on mixcloud-jim b. Donovan, which is
not quite up to standard, as the evening very nearly did not get recorded at
all, but thanks to Chris's skills was rescued. The next session is on
SATURDAY AUGUST 31st with a really extra special freebie for all those
attending. The following session on SEPTEMBER 28th, will be a funk and soul
special to big up another gig I am involved in locally in October. Thanks
again to all of you who chatted with me about the night, you have made a
happy man very old! BCNU-Hopefully JIM
