THE TRIP AT THE AFROBA-WITH VINTAGE VINYL-THE LAST SATURDAY EACH MONTH-PLAYLIST FOR SESSION 70 ON 30th JANUARY 2011. MORE AT www.jimz.biz, and JIM B. DONOVAN and AFROBA GROUP ON FACEBOOK.
Well another pretty “interesting” session with the bar quite full for the final three hours. The “plot”, which always gets altered was to play mostly standout tunes played last year. Some of those got on but the evening was peppered with requests, and my new format to feature a different artist each month. I picked Marvin Gaye this month with Gil Scott Heron to feature in February. Please do not forget that the afroba now runs with a “sister” session to the trip on the last Thursday called Tracks and Grooves, which is next on FEBRUARY 24th, with the trip following on FEBRUARY 26th. Feel free to join the AFROBA GROUP on FACEBOOK to be kept up to date on details and playlists. Also the trip is recorded and played back at the afroba during the week. Look forward to seeing you at the next session, be there or be somewhere else!...Jim
