the TRIP AT THE AFROBA, READING with vintage vinyl, SESSION 61, --24th APRIL 2010-- PLAYLIST AND JIMS RAMBLINGS. MORE AT www.jimz.biz and Jim B Donovan on facebook.
Well you really did put me through it at this session. From 6.30 to 9.30 it was like a nice steady cruise at low speed with hardly anybody in. Then from 9.30 to midnight the place just filled to the rafters and I got bombarded with conversations and requests. At my age I really do need to pace myself and I got into a real mess with the tunes, (with another 16 boxes with me!) We also went a bit ‘indy” request wise, no problem with that except I would not normally go down that route unless asked. Also I did a few more competitions with afroba cd’s as prizes. The 8 new ones are now available and will be with me at the next session or in the shop in the meanwhile. The evening obviously paid its respects especially to Guru and during the earlier segment I got on a lot of tunes that have not been played before or for ages. If you missed the earlier segment do not forget it gets played back without my chat as continuous music during the evenings in May.
Next session subtitled “When I’m…”(all will be revealed on the night) is on MAY 29th, and COME EARLY!!, please.
