TRIP 24/12/11

The TRIP with vintage vinyl, Session 81, at the afroba, reading. Playlist for the Christmas Eve special-24/12/11, plus a few extras. More playlists at www.jimz.biz and details on the afroba facebook page.
Well I had a feeling this was going to be a mellow one and it was with a very quiet bar, which was expected, as everyone went a little mad the night before at the afroba Christmas party. Also it was the third session in as many nights, and I only played for four and a half hours instead of the usual five and a half. On Thursday it was tracks and grooves-playlists on its facebook page-and the night before the party mentioned above, with Chris, Tim, and Kirsten guest d j’ing, and the human Christmas gift wrapping competition-photos on the afroba facebook page. At the end of the Saturday playlist are a few tunes turntabled the night before, except I wish I could have listed more of Tims, if only he had written them down! Chris’s rare groove set was a delight, which he must do again, and Kirsten proved there are not enough female d j’s on the scene. Talking of which, Friday saw quite a few local faces on the scene popping in and it was great to see them. The next session is on JANUARY 28th, with TRACKS AND GROOVES two nights before, with hopefully some news of extra sessions. BCNU-Jim.
