ALLSORTS

Some nice feedback from this one….

Dear Jim

Just to thank you so very much for providing us with all the kit for a perfect 60s evening last night.  It was wonderful music, very well put together, and all your memorabilia made for fascinating visuals as well as audio.  You ran and timed everything perfectly, allowing the evening to flow beautifully from chat to dinner, to dancing.  Winding down from 11pm also worked well and was so much nicer for people leaving than when everything stops dead and the lights go on.

It was a fantastic way for me to celebrate a special birthday, and I can honestly say I have not enjoyed a party more.  It was lovely meeting you and I have been bursting into 60 songs all day today!

Thank you for your huge contribution to my memorable evening, I hope we have the opportunity to meet again.

Best wishes,

Fiona

TRIP 29/06/2013

THE TRIP SESSION 99 AT MILK, READING WITH VINTAGE VINYL. PLAYLIST FOR THE SESSION ON JUNE 29th 2013. NEXT SESSION IS ON JULY 27th, WHEN WE GET TO SESSION 100.

PLEASE NOTE NEXT MONTH I WILL NOT BE BRINGING THOUSANDS OF TUNES WITH ME, AS I JUST INTEND TO PLAY SOME OF THE MOST REQUESTED/POPULAR TUNES TURNTABLED OVER THE LAST 99 SESSIONS. REQUESTS WILL RETURN THEREFORE IN AUGUST.

AS USUAL EXCUSES FIRST! I NORMALLY MAKE A BACKUP COPY ON MINIDISC TO ALLOW ME TO LISTEN TO THE SET BEFORE POSTING, ON MIXCLOUD. HOWEVER, MILK HAD A POWER CUT, WHICH WIPED OUT THE MINI DISC, SO I POSTED IT WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO CHECK IT. THERE IS A MINUTE OR SO’S GAP DURING THE PEPE BRADDOCK TRACK, AND SATURDAY NIGHT HAS-FLUFF ON THE STYLUS.

THE EVENING REALLY WORKED ME HARD BUT WAS VERY ENJOYABLE WITH A VERY PACKED BAR AND LOTS OF COMMENTS/COMPLIMENTS, BUT I COULD HARDLY HEAR MYSELF THINK, SO THE "MIXING" IS PRETTY AWFUL. LOADS MORE REQUESTS THAN USUAL, AND A “NICE” TOP 40 SEGMENT THAT JUST HAPPENED. TUNES FROM GLASTONBURY ARTISTS GOT ON, AND THE “DISCO” THEME HAPPENED LATER ON. PLUS MY TWO NEW RECORDS WERE PLAYED, BOARDS OF CANADA AND DAFT PUNK. A BIT OF A JAZZY END, AND STACKRIDGE, THE FIRST BAND EVER TO PLAY AT GLASTONBURY IN 1970., GOT ITS USUAL ANNUAL PLAY. SO ONWARDS TO SESSION 100, ON JULY 27 th. WHICH IS GOING OUT LIVE ON INTERNET RADIO-READING4YOU, AND WE WILL BE HANDING OUT A FEW FREEBIES TO THOSE OF YOU THAT COME EARLY/REGARDS-JIM.

REMEMBER THIS SET AND MUCH MORE IS ON MIXCLOUD-JIM B. DONOVAN.
